Frequently asked questions

How is the HS code determined?

Based on the product's technical specifications, materials and intended use, the HS code is determined using the Harmonized System rules and explanatory notes. For borderline products, a binding tariff information application may be filed.

What is the maximum bonded warehouse term?

Under the Turkish Customs Code, the maximum storage term in bonded warehouses is generally up to 24 months; extensions may be granted within regulatory limits.

How is the inward processing regime (DPR) used?

DPR lets you import raw materials duty-free on the condition of re-export after processing. It is a significant advantage for export-oriented manufacturers.

How is duty accrual handled?

On behalf of you, duty is calculated via the customs treasury, payment is made and your release process proceeds immediately.
